LISTENING FOR LIFE CENTRE APPEAL
The Ear Trust has proposed the building of a new, purpose built centre for cochlear implants, the Yorkshire Listening for Life Centre.
This will be the first centre of its kind in the UK. To date, the Ear Trust have raised just over £1 million towards the £2.5 million total. We are now at the stage where plans have been submitted and approved and successful negotiations with the Trustees of Bradford Royal Infirmary (BRI) have resulted in a 30-year lease for a plot of land in the grounds on which to build this innovative and child-friendly centre.
The building itself is being designed to take advantage of the latest advances in environmentally friendly construction and efficiency, so that it will have a smaller impact on the environment and be less costly to run in terms of heating and lighting, etc.
